So for those of you I haven't seen in the past month or so I've taken on another new addiction. Whilst looking in our local Upper Piper Arts & Crafts Coop I saw some amazing work by Tassie Artist Michelle Beuachamp, here beautiful, organic and delicate doodling (now known as Zentangling) is hanging in the gallery and I was blown away, I've always been a bit of a doodler, while on the phone, thinking up a new organisation structure or just whiling away the time, but never to any purpose.
So you all know I love the World Wide Web, there are so many talented and sharing people out there, and I love cruising and checking out what other people are doing, and more importantly how they are doing it. I found some fantastic sites and some great tutorials and off I went.
I had been creating a memory book for my sister with lots of photos from the old days, I thought the photos need a bit more oomph so I started tangling around them. I took some pens and a small notepad with me on my camping holiday and had a bash.
I must say I'm loving the whole doodling with purpose idea. I'm very new at all this but having a blast and you know the best thing about it... I only need 1 notebook and a few pens to do this anywhere!!! No more lugging around a suitcase to bring all the tools and supplies I need to use. No more waiting for paint or glue to dry before I can pack it all up again. No more sticky, dirty fingers, hand, clothes etc etc. You get the idea, that's not to say I'm giving up all that other good stuff, but with this I can throw my tools in my handbag and tangle anywhere whenever I have 5 minutes to spare.
So if you're interested here's some pics of my first foray into doodling with purpose!
