As you know from the last post I made some patchwork cards to go in one of the gift boxes. The way I pieced the parts together was time consuming and fiddly, so I put my thinking cap on and came up with a better solution.
I'd already been using my Creative Memory square punches to cut out the 1" squares needed to make most of the designs, but sticking them together was... trying...
So I drew up some 3" squares on paper and added all the lines to create a template for the pieces to be stuck onto. Then I printed as many copies of the sheet as I needed to create the designs I wanted. This turned out to be MUCH simpler. I simply cut out a 3" square of jac paper (double sided adhesive paper) and stuck it down over one of the designs on my template sheet. This made it HEAPS easier to place all the tiny pieces of paper in the right spot to create the patchwork design. For the hexagonal designs it may be easier to simply cut a 3" square of whatever paper you want to make your background and just glue the hexagons on top of it (a bit of a cheat but still looks like patchwork to me). Don't forget to add stitching lines around each piece to make it look authentic.
