It has been some time since I actually posted on the blog and I have also missed the past 2 get-togethers as well so I feel a bit slack girls!!! I have, however, finally gotten a little bit of time to do a few cards and some scrapbooking pages even though they have been few and far between. Looking forward to April's blast and I had better get organised and get my challenge entry underway!!!! Agatha Christie - right up my alley - I am a huge fan and have almost all of her 80 novels!!! Below are some of my recent cards!
I have been madly making cards the last 2 days!!! Surprise, surprise!!! And no they are not Christmas cards - they are already done!!! I have a wedding to got to today and I used Jude's wonderful technique with lace and glitter to make a beautiful wedding card with crystal and silver glitter! Love this technique!!!!
I have also used Jane's template for the card box to make boxes of cards for relatives who still send cards! I adjusted template as the card I had for boxes was slightly smaller than A4 so I made open tops and tabs to hold closed with ties. I used a one sheet wonder template (see links) to make 24 cards from 2 sheets of cardstock 12x12 and 2 sheets of paper 12x12 plus card bases made from 12 sheets of cardstock A4. Wow it is such fun! I adjusted some to make up for the mistake I made with measurements!!! Haha I told you all my stuff is never perfect!! I must have Amish blood!! have a great craft week girls!!! Do you love washi tapes but find it expensive and maybe only need a little bit? Well I have added a link on instructions to make your own!
For an easier option: Take strips of double-side tape, peel off one side of the backing paper on the tape and apply in rows to your fabric or chosen paper. Then using a steady hand a pair of very sharp scissors, cut precisely around the strips of tape, so you are left with fabric backed tape. Reel your home-made tape around small sections of cardboard roll and tie with twist ties or ribbon to keep the tape secure on the roll. TA Dah!!!!! How easy is that????? Embossed Washi tape: This tape is on tissue paper and is made by stamping and embossing tissue paper then sticking to double sided tape and cutting as above. See links for instructions. Well I was absolutely blown away with our day yesterday!!! Thank you all so much for sharing some wonderful and exciting new techniques, some great food and lots and lots of laugh and talking!!! I can't wait to get into testing some of the new cards out!!
Now all I need is a few more hours in the day to get into the craft room!!! |
