One of the projects she had on display was a box to hold handmade cards. Hmm I thought to myself this would be a perfect pressie for my Mother-in-law for her birthday, after all what do you get for someone who has lived a long life and who has practically everything they really need. Cards to give out to other people of course.
I'd seen this gift card box before on Youtube at Stamp TV (I've added the video below for those who want to see it). But that one was sized for American A2 cards so I decided to redesign the template to fit our more common A5 card and envelope size (you can fit up between 4 and 6 A5 cards and envelopes in the box, it really depends on how much added depth you have on the cards).
If you'd like the template for the box click here to download it.
So far I've made 2 sets one in blues and purples and another patchwork style set. Give it a whirl, I'm sure you know someone who'd love to receive a pack of handmade cards from you this year.
A gift for Mina
So here's the project made from a single 30 x 30cm sheet of patterned paper, 1 sheet of A4 cards stock for the box, 1/2 sheet of A4 card stock for matting and decorating, a few doilies, a bit of ribbon, some bling and six A5 cards.
This set was made with a variety of patterened papers to create some patchwork designs, some matting cardstock (I embossed a lot of the mats to add some texture to the cards), more ribbon, bling and six A5 cards.
